Ownership - How It Works

Fractional club ownership is a system established in the 1980’s that allows a few Pilots, executives or growing businesses to efficiently share an aircraft… providing the lowest possible capital and operating costs, while still enjoying virtually all the benefits of sole aircraft ownership.

Fractional ownership - and ValleyFlyers in general - is a safe, secure option to buy a “piece” of an aircraft (rather than the entire aircraft) giving you better use of capital, centralized, professional aircraft maintenance, annual flight reviews, executive level customer service, and complete turn key aircraft management…all while saving over 80% of the usual aircraft ownership costs!

Purchase Terms: There is a one-time acquisition cost for each shared interest. At the end of the term, the owner-pilot may renew the contract, sell the shared interest at fair market value of the underlying aircraft and exit the program, or apply the sales credit to a new Valley Flyers aircraft.

Contract Term: The contract term is for four years. At the end of the four-year term, the share is sold back to Valley Flyers at fair market value less a predetermined remarketing fee.

Monthly Management Fee: During the length of the contract, the owner is responsible for a monthly management fee that is proportionate to the shared interest. This fee covers all the fixed costs of ownership such as insurance, aircraft storage, etc.

Monthly Membership Use Fee: The use fee represents the average cost of the contracted use of the airplane. It is calculated by the share percent number of contracted annual hours multiplied by the average operating cost per hour. An under use credit is awarded at the end of each contracted year and is based the time you did not use or put in the rental program that year.

Under Use Credit: If you use less than your contracted time Valley Flyers will credit back the operating costs of those hours at the end of each contracted year.

Use Overage: If aircraft is used over contracted time per year the owner will be charged at the membership rate per hour.

Club Aircraft: Valley Flyers manages a fleet of several types of aircraft with varying values. Owners may use available time in other aircraft based on an hour per hour exchange rate or just rent at member rates per hour.

Rental Program: Owners may transfer their annual hours in blocks of 10 to the rental program for other club members to rent. The revenue generated from rentals will be split with Valley Flyers and the owner. Rotation will be prioritized by date and revenue.

Flight Instruction & Proficiency: Valley Flyers will enlist certified flight instructors so owners can stay current, become more proficient, or advance their certifications.
